For you guys with the Scout Dana 44's, how did you place the spring perch on the diff side? to get the pinion angle right? Is some grinding in order, what else???

Thanks

BTW: I already checked out the Scout axle swap on the YJ at bc4x4.com. I just want to see what others have done if anything different...

I did a SOA on my Scout and I had to grind a new perch into the Casting on the Diff side. Right on web of the housing...

When it comes to pinion angle (for a Scout) It takes some work, Had to grind out the welds on the knuckles and turn them back in order to restore some kind of caster.

I'd get a wagoneer 44 instead of the scout. Too many hassles. FWIW

I used a waggy but I'm curious, why is it better than a scout? I had to grind a perch into my 44.

did you have to turn the knuckles? That's where the work is at.

I haven't turned the knuckles yet, but definitely plan on it... That's the least of my worries right now. I'm still scrounging for parts at the moment.

I know basically everything else that needs attention for the swap, just the perch mount I needed a little collaboration on:flipoff2:

Thanks fellas
