: oil pump problems

I think my oil pump in my 74 F motor going south on me. Once the engine warms up the pressure guage drops to almost 0, but it is fine until that point. I have changed the oil and it is at the correct level. I was wondering if I could just swap the pump with one I have in a spare 69 F? I know the pumps are a little different, but I want to find a cheap alternative to spending $180 for a new one. Or does anybody have a 73-74 F oil pump in good working order that they would sell for cheap? I just need the engine to make it until 74 is smog exempt as I don't want to mess with putting the smog crap on the 350.
Thanks,

Just a thought but are you using a mechanical oil guage to confirm that it is the pump pressure dropping (which could imply other tolerance limits being exceeded as the engine warms or a failing pump) and not some sender/wire/electric guage problem?
