I am selling a stock 88 4Runner. I purchased this because I wanted to have a nice 4Runner to off-road in, then realized that I do not need two 1st generation 4Runners. My 85 works well on the rocks.
This is a completely stock 1988 4Runner with the following items.
New crank and bearings, rods resized. Toyota crank & clevite bearings
New oil pump
New tires
It has just under 140,000 miles on the odometer
Just recently smogged and is still current for the the next owner.
Automatic
Carpet interior
No Rust
It is in great shape.
Here are the items that need attention:
There are some tears on the rear seats by the latches.
2 very small dents on the front fenders - not bad
A/C does not work, missing the pulley, but all other components are present
Horn does not work
No Radio - you can customize this feature
Fuel gauge inoperative after it gets past a 1/2 tank
It runs fine, 4 wheel drive works well. It is very smooth at 70 mph. From looking at the under carriage, this 4Runner has never seen any rocks. I did the work on the engine and I worked at Toyota as a service tech, so I took my time on rebuilding the engine. It has just few hundred miles on the engine now. Registration will be due at the end of September - $75.
I am asking $3000.
