I am thinkin of tryin to run a d300 as a divorced case behind a 231. I was thinkin that if I made a stub shaft using the slip yoke from the 231, and the output shaft from a t5 to d300. Then I all I would have to do is mount the 300 rigidly to the 231 and I am good to go. The other option is to fab up divorce kit for the 300 simalar to the ones for toy cases and use a ujoint to connect the two, simalar to divorced 205 setups I have seen. Whattya think??
Has anyone done this? I searched it, but couldnt find anything.
Thanks
was just thinking of how to do this myself as i have and extra d300 laying around and a buddy with a longer wheelbase rig whose looking at it.

A d300 would require an additional bearing on the input side if it was run divorced w/ a u joint connecting it to the other case, as well as a oil seal and fill (unless a sealed bearing was used) I am thinking that if I build a low profile housing for the front of the 300, w/ a bearing, stubshaft w/ a yoke on one end and the t5 output shaft stub on the other end, retained by a snap ring it would be good to go?? The lenght would more than I would like, but if a divorced 205 fits behind a 20 in a 100" WB, then I ought to work on the willys PU (gunna be long, somewhere near 118")
thanks

See my post in general, on the same idea, but a little different.
