Rockhog and I are getting ready to do hydro assist on our rides and I am looking for any pics of the ram install on a EB. Looks a bit cramped with the trac bar. I do have the tie rod flipped. Thinking of using the West Texas kit.

This has been covered in General 4x4 time after time.

Use Search and you will find pages of info and pics.

The bronco is Differnt from the other ones because of the trac bar and the tie rod flip does not make it any easier. Youa lso have the coil buckets in the way. My advice is to have Matt send yu the ram, Once you get that figured out, get the rest of the parts bolted on. I cna't hink of how to do it on the EB.

CoryL- There are no threads on an EB hydro assist in any forum. I searched before I posted and always do.

Flatty- this is going to be quite a challenge, if I decide to do it. EB front ends are a mess with all the crap in the way.

I have set up 3 of these already. If you decide to do this, let me know, I can give you a hand with it. I would go with the west texas setup. Call Matt and tell him Dimitri sent you. he will help you out any way you can imagine.

Here's a few pic's, I'm using a full width hi-pin 44 so I have a little more room to play with, looked at the standard width looked a little more challenging.
The first two pic's are using electrical conduit to just find locations, the last one is where I'm at right now.

I used the West Texas off-road kit myself, and you are right, it's very cramped. It'll be impossible to mount the ram Matt sends you without relocating your track-bar to the top of your axle housing. You can see pics on how I set mine up at My web site (http://big78bronco.superford.org) .

The June issue of Four Wheeler just came out and it does an artical on the Rock Ram install into an EB. Worth a look for a different way to install.

Definately looked to be a good article, but it also says, they had to relocate that lower track bar mount.

I read the 4 Wheeler article and that is the only way that I could see installing a ram. Rock ram does look smaller the the Industrial cylinder from West Texas, both should fit though. Man I just finished fab'n the trac bar setup to complete the extended radius arm install. Now I have to cut it off and start over.

I hate when that happens.......Good luck man and be sure to take some pic so the other EB'rs have a idea how and what goes into this.. Man I want the Set up my HP 44 on my ford like they did on that EB....:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
