hey,
I have a full width Chevy 44 (with gearing to match my 14 bolt) that i will be installing to replace my Wag 44. The Wag 44 has Bob Roggy's stepped high steer arms with TREs.
I trial fitted the hummer wheels today, and not surprisingly the wheels hit the TRE (that is on the high steer arm). It appears that I need the TRE hole to move about 1.25" medially (towards the midline of the vehicle) on both arms (my draglink attaches to the tie rod).
I got ahold of Bob at Schaffer's shop and he is going to see what he can do about making an arm that will clear the wheels (he's got some 7" BS wheels he can use for a trial fit.
I'm not sure I will be able to go this route, but I was wondering if others would be interested in this arm.
I've discussed Ackerman (quite frankly i think i have zero or negative right now) and I've discussed wheel spacers (but that is a last resort due to tread coverage laws here in Maine.......honestly, it's the ONE thing you ill DEFINITELY be bagged for).
Anyone know of anyone else making such an arm? or willing to?
