I need a [couple] of new brake controllers and research shows the Tekonsha Prodigy is, from all reports, the nicest and 'best' unit out there.

Searching around online (specifically e-bay) I'm seeing the Version 2.4 and the (I assume) new Version 2.6 available. Both PN 90185 The 2.4's are more common and cheaper, but whats the difference?? For normal person use (7000# to 14000# tandam axle trailers, maybe a triple if I find a good deal) is there enough of a difference between these two units?

I will probably end up getting (2) units to be moved between probably 4 rigs (since they have a nice docking station and some of the rigs are only used as tow rigs 'on occasion'). Seems the most cost-effect route for my use.

I just ordered one from trailerguy... I bought it from someone reputable(support pbb vendors too) and the price was competitive. I would give him a call...

Difference: The only difference that I know of is the price, to be honest. If someone still has 2.4's, then it just means that they've been on the shelf for a little bit. I'm sure that there is some sort of difference, but I don't know what it would be.

IIRC, they had problems with the 2.4 on diesel trucks. I think the 2.6 fixed that.
