I saw the late July post on how to engage/secure the rear liftgate ... my problem is the opposite ... it's shut and won't open on the right side. Difficulty is I don't have the truck in my possesion ... it's at the dealer [50 miles away] for the gas tank recall repair and they can't do anything with it as they don't want to risk breaking the glass.

So ... how to open it? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Tell the dealer they should be able to figure it out...they are after all...THE FRIGGIN' DEALER!

Seriously, if you have to crawl in there from the inside, undo the phillips screws and remove the cover, you should be able to jimmy the connecting rod enough to get it open.

I'll fax a copy of this to the dealer ... Duh!
