Help!!!

I'm looking to lift my wife's '01 Ram 1500, with 5.9L gas engine, Quadcab. I'm am looking to avoid the spacer/ blocks/ and Add A Leafs. I know this really cuts down my options and jacks the price. I've only found one kit that meets all these requirements...the skyjacker Platinum Coilover. I've looked at and really like the KORE systems, but alas they do not make their kits for the 1500. My big question is.....has anyone tried the kore lifts on the 1500 with success and what modifications were required? My overall mechanical knowledge is limited, but it seems to me that the only significant difference between the 1500/ 2500 is the load capacity of the suspension. Does anyone have experience with either of these lifts or similar products from other manufacturers?

There is more than that diffrent. Call KORE and ask them what they think. How much lift do you want to have?

you are better off peicing together a lift. hate to take folks from here, but there is tons of info on doing so on my site. search the forums (but choose the Dodge 4x4 or Engine/Drivetrain/Suspension forum to speed the search results)

if you want to buy a pure bolt-on kit, the Skyjacker 5" lift uses replacement coils and as long as purcahse the 'System' you will get new rear leaf springs. Then there are the various 'classes' that will offer different control arm options. It is a complete kit and functions well.

i prefer the peice together system though so you can get the best parts for each component. it can cost slightly more though, but not much.

Sometimes, it costs less. And DEFINITELY less in the long run.

Ok, if i opt to piece the suspension lift system together, what items do I absolutely need, what items are nice to have, and what items are "if you have the time and money"? I'm still debating between 3" or 5" overall lift. Thanks for the advice so far.

I have been trying to find a good set of control arms for my lift springs. I want to go about an inch and a half forward, because of my bumper I built. I have the skyjacker d25 springs. I bought them from summitracing.com for 150.00 they give a cummins 2.5 inches of lift.

OK, I've taken the first step towards piecing together the lift. I opted to go with 3" at this point. (limited by parking garage ceilings, and her desire to not have to climb into the truck) I ordered the Skyjacker D30 Coils and the DR56S rear leaf springs. $538 total. They should be here in about a week. Next step is to find some good durable shocks all around, any suggestions? I've heard great things about bilsteins so am leaning that way. Big Question is what other modifications do I absolutely have to make when I do the spring and shock swap out? I want to be sure that I have every thing on hand when the disassembly begins.

3" lift requires nothing other than coils or spacers and the rear leafs or AALs. Even new control arms are OEM length for 3" lift.
