Removed the stock dash completely. I was looking at this the other night, and it looks very hard to do. I was thinking of doing this and amking it so I can reattach it with some bolts. That way I can make rewiring the cruiser in the future easier. Also, if I wanted to, I could start over with a blank metal piece and cut it how I want to.:emb:

I swapped dashes on my friends FJ40 to replace a gutted dash for :rainbow: gauges... Take your doors off, remove the padded dash, and fold down the windshield. You will need to get a spot weld drill bit, and go to town on the spot welds under the lip on the padded dash support (about 30 IIRC) then look at either outer edge of the dash and see that weld seam holding it onto the door jamb? Grind that off and then pry the dash off. You I am not sure how you would attach it on the top without welding, but the sides would be easy to bolt back on...
Hope that helps...
