The seller listed it as:

"94 DODGE 2500 4 X 4 TRUCK. RANCH HAND REPLACEMENT BUMPER. NEW STEEL FLATBED.
PL, PW, SLIDING GLASS. 203,000 MILES. NEEDS SOME WORK."

He is asking $7K which is way more than book value, I checked it on KBB and edmunds but I know they aren't always worth looking at.

I've emailed the seller and it is the CTD manual tranny... anything to look out for when buying a truck like this for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about the Cummins engine?

That is a little high but for the used diesels you can't really follow blue book. They hold their value a lot better than the book says. I'd think that truck is probably worth $6K or so, especially with that flat bed and bumper. If it is in really good shape I'd pay that much. One of the things to look for is the Killer Dowel Pin has been taken care of. Also check to make sure the tranny has had the 5th gear "fixed" so it doesn't walk off.

That would sell every day of the week for 7,500 or 8,000 around here. People pay top dollar for cummins.

It's a good price. We'd get $10K for it at the dealer I work for, via ebay.

Ya, good deal.
I have a buddy selling a very similar truck, 97' flatbed, new inj pump, 5-spd, 4x4 with 185K and he is asking $12,500 for it.
