I think it should be 4.09 or 4.10. At least that is what mine is. I know that is some later model FJ40's, they started coming with 3.73's.
One of the bad things about the '70 axles that you are selling is that they have coarse spline axle shafts and a weak cv joint in the front end. I believe that is it '75 and later that started comiing with fine spline and birfield. Not much better, but a little more strength.

The inner axles are the same as the later years. The birfield (cv) is the weaker coarse-splined variety, but that's easy to fix with a DB swap. They were 4.10s until 1979 when they went to the 3.73s. Most 1975s still had the coarse birfs and drum brakes. The stronger fine-splined birf came with the disc brakes in 1976, but they are still weaker than the truck and 1979+ TLC birfs.

Thanks for setting me straight FeCamel. I stand corrected and have learned something in the process.

Hehe, you can learn a lot hanging around here. I wonder how much useful brainspace I've wasted (well, some would call it a waste) by remembering Cruiser facts. Now we just need to get the newbies to check Woody's site or do a search first, and we'll be set.

Brian,

Be sure to send me a list of stuff you want to sell of that with prices and I will forward it to my Cruiser club to sell it for you.

I looked at the axel code chart on TLC faq and i found very high ratios like 6.667 or 7.636, wich landcruisers had those ratios?

If i remember corectly the extremely low gears only came in some 1 ton ful float toyota work trucks. IE Very rare.
