I got my OME kit for my 80 yesterday, and was hoping to put it on this weekend. The thing I noticed was that the instructions for the castor corretion kit said you need a "garage press" to get the bushing in and out. These instructions are in OZ language which I can usually understand, but what is invoved here? Should I expect to have to take my control arms to the machine shop and get them pressed in and out??? Should I get new hardware for the front control arms as suggested? Looking for some advise from someone who has put this kit on before, as well as any other tricks that might speed me up. Thanks in advance,
Rick.

Drill em out with a sawzall, use sex wax to ease the installation of the new ones, and paint the arms yellow. Then hurry to the big sale at the mall!
Ok, seriously. Your 60 called my 40 last night and complained about being rejected. You better pay more attention to it and LET'S GO WHEELIN!
BTW I haven't used the bender, need it back anytime soon?

You definately must use a press. Be careful, when these things let go, they REALLY let go and can kill someone.
You also need a press to put them back in.
Depending on quotes you get, you may just be better off purchasing a 10 ton press from Harbor Freight and doing it yourself.
No hurry, your Cruiser will handle fine with OME springs and no caster correction.
As for the hardware, I ALWAYS reuse the Toyota hardware....
Nolen, Thanks, That is what I figured, I have a 16ton press on my tubing bender, I might try to use that.
Mike, :flipoff2: Hey, I bought the fj80 with the lockers:rolleyes: its a SLEEPER mall-crawer , of course I just spent $56 on a fucking factory cup holder (but it is totally for the wife) and I get an extra 25hp just from that spongebob sticker. Yeah, My fj60 has been sitting so long I had to weed-eat around it. She kept giving me the "Hey remember me?" look everytime I was out in the back yard. But, I drove her today after I realized the car tags expired................. a month ago (real alert IPD), oops. Wheeling sounds good. Almost done with the FJ60 RR bumper (I was almost done 5 months ago too). Too many cruisers, not enough day in the day. I was gonna call you this week to see what is up. Yeah, I might need the bender to press out the castor bushings, but I could save the trip and just do it at your house, OH and we could just throw the springs and shocks under the truck while we are at it:D :D

I'm still running without any caster correction. No problems for me but it does steer a little quicker on the highway. I've thought about doing the welded washer fix described on the 80 Series list or the "ron wilander kit" but it's a low priority.
BTW, I used the two spring packers 15mm worth IIRC and the heavy springs. ~3-inches of lift.
Did ID Cruiserman do the "ron wilander kit" recently? If so, how'd it go Eric? No need for presses right?

Jim, I never got around to installing Ron's kit. As soon as this soccer season is over, my weekends will be free, and I'll do it then :). I'll post again after doing the install.
