i have a 95 dodge ram. its needing a new axle shaft. the part that goes from the pumpkin on the front axle to the passenger wheel and is connected by a U joint. Where is the cheapest place to get these? thanks for any help. It is called a axle shaft right? thanks in advance.

It is called a axle shaft but there is more than one. There is one that goes from the differential to the CAD and then another one from that CAD to the end of the axle.

its going to sound like i am dumb (and i am when it comes to drivetrain) but, what is a CAD? Thanks for any help in advance.

CAD = Central Axle Disconnect. Basically you have a 2 piece passenger side axle shaft that has a splined locking collar to connect the two pieces when you shift into 4wd.
