Ok, for a while I have spent a little time here and there looking for a wood working forum, I havent come up with anything worth a sh*t.

I am a total newb to wood working and I am looking for a forum with some good tech also things for beginners, very much like here...

Also hoping to find something that covers things like furniture making to hand carving etc, the whole nine would be awesome.

There are soo many good car and metal working forums there has to be atleast one GOOD wood working forum.

With so many hobbyists/professions involved with wood woking I figured it would have been easier.

If this belongs in general chit chat feel free to move...

Thanks in advance.

This place is a wealth of knowledge:

And this one has a Woodworking section that is small but growing... ;)

www.woodnet.net is the most popular but it can be a little rough at times. It's sort of the pirate 4x4 of woodworking. (Although it's mild compared to this place.)

If you're looking for something civil then I'd go to www.sawmillcreek.com . If there is one problem with Sawmill creek it's that all the members tend to have big budgets and it's hard to get tool advice without spending $200 on a ROS or $3k on a table saw.

Hmmm a good topic, posted up before on hoping to find Heavy duty (or what some call HD) cupboards and built in benches with drawers etc. Hopefully when I go thru some of these links I will find what I am looking for. THANKS TO ALL!

I haven't been done any woodworking in a while...metal to burn and sparks to fly....This one is pretty good. Easy to remember, too http://www.woodworking.com/dcforum/dcboard.pl

I stick to the industry forums mostly, but there are some links off of www.woodweb.com that might be useful.

And yet they whine and complain like they're being physically assaulted ;)

Knowledgeable folks though. even ones with a fetish for purpleheart

The Knots format, however, is horrible.
