I finally got my Reverse cut D60 axles built from Texas Auto Gear in Houston, TX. It took a while for them to get the 1/2 ton 6 on 5.5" (chevy, toyota bolt pattern) hubs from Dynatrac.

Front axle:

RC D60, kingpin
65" WMS to WMS
GM 1/2 ton disk brakes, Superwinch hubs
4:88 r/p with Detroit
1410 pinion flange (from Jesse)
35 spline Moser inner/30 spline outer axle
shaved housing with drain plug
High Steer Arm
5/8" inch DOM axle tubing
CrMo rod with big ass heim joint
Heavy duty 1/4" diff cover

Rear axle:
RC D60 (centered)
65.5" WMS to WMS
Ford Motorsport rear disk brakes with e brake
35 spline Moser axles
Strange Spool
1410 pinion flange
Shaved housing with drain plug
Screw in fitting for vent
1/4" inch DOM axle tubing
Heavy duty 1/4" diff cover

Excellent workmanship. The axle tubes were removed and replaced with new DOM tubing. 5/8" in the front and 1/4" in the rear.

These axles are for my next FJ40 projecrt which I'm working on.

If you want additional info.. please contact Texas Auto Gear at
281-448-4371 and ask for David Yackley. You'll have to ask for prices since I would rather not disclose on this public forum. Let's just say it was MUCH cheaper than Dynatrac and better quality.

I'll post pics soon.

Charles

How long until these things see some use? I think you should loan them to someone who needs them to use until you finish deciding on what they are going to go under:flipoff2:

I'm sure someone would love to have them...

Hey Grogan,

Might be a year or so. Still need to find a donor FJ40 body to install these things into. Also, I'm still debating SM420/D300 or
Turbo 350/NP203/D300 or maybe Turbo 400/Atlas III combo. I'll worry about that after I get a donor vehicle... I figure the hard part is done.

Some people don't have as much money as some people...:D :D :D

When are you getting your LT-1 motor installed?

1/4" dom for the tubes in the rear? seems kinda thin to me. especially for a custom built unit. why not go 1/2"? just curious.

That's exactly what I'm thinking... I think I would have spec'd 1/2 in. wall. Other than that, definitely some cool chit!!

I was also thinkin that. Why would you want only 1/4" tube?

I went with 1/4" for the rear for the weight. The rear tubes from the factory come with 1/4", but they're not DOM so they're not as strong. Also, I'm going to be running an FJ40 which is much lighter than a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

charles, sounds like a sweet cruizer you are going to have. if you need any parts let me know. i just bought a 1970 fj40 to use for my buggy project so i am parting it out. i am going to use the dash/winsheild frame forward so i don't have the tub you are looking for....that is unless you just need the rear portion of the tub. i do have a 3speed case, th350 with adapter, hard top, doors, tail gate doors, etc. if you are in need e-mail me. all of my current drive train in my jeep will be used so i don't need any of it. anyway i am in your area so i thought you might be interested.

man i'm addicted to them all. i love fj40's, cj's, samurai's, early bronco's, scouts, etc., etc. i love them all!!!! the fj just came along at the right price. really and truely the only thing that will be fj on my project will be the hood, winshield frame, dash, front part of the tub, frame, and the grill. the rest will all be trnsplanted from my jeep. i will like it in the fact that there are not as many of them out there. this pic is similar to what i have planned.

We work for a living you prick, Newbie!

Go to school/military get a trade and GO TO WORK ASSHOLE!!!!

I absolutely HATE this attitude.

No one has given me SHIT! I went to college and then the Air Force for 7 years. Now I have a real job. Same with Charles and Brian...no rich boys here, just people that have worked HARD for what they have.

It's called planning. Now go whine to someone who cares.

:flipoff: right back at you asshole.

Hummmm.......can we get a price here? And for those of you out there that are complaining about cash, you need to learn how to work the system, get a credit card, or sacrifice and sell some old shit on ebay/PBB for sale section, then buy new shit..........2nd job maybe:confused:

The 1/2 ton hubs from Dynarape cost like 800.00 or so. Don't have the exact amount. They charge this much because I believe they are the only ones who make them..... Don' t you just hate a monopoly?

I agree completely with Nolen about the cost of these things. I don't like the cost of them either, but you do what you have to do to get them. I've had to make sacrifices in other aspects of my life to get a decent job so I can play. Going to college and getting a masters degree was no cakewalk and there were times when I just wanted to drop out, but you do what you have to do. Most, if not all, of the guys on this board are very hard working individuals who work hard so we can afford our toys....

No shit man...Money comes from hard work, a little luck, and nothing else...Unless your a trustafarian, and, IMO that would suck somewhat, because half the fun for me is finding and working the deals...Then executing the build-up.

The best costs...And if you can't afford it AND still have fun COOL! If you can't afford it and whine and cry about it publicly, then fawk off! :flipoff:
