I bought this hood when it was on sale at sears a couple of years ago,

Does it use backup batteries? Is the solar panel blocked? Is the panel dirty so no light is getting thru to charge?

no battery, the panel is not blocked, and the plastic is crystal clear. When I push the on/off button the AD flickers for a millisecond... I have been trying to find a manual online to see if there are troubleshooting tips or something, but so far no luck.

I have that exact same hood. Try to reset it by pushing and holding down the on/off button for like 5 seconds.

Mine did it once before, figures it just wasn't charged. Put it on the hood of the truck outside for a while, it's worked great ever since. Now, I'll occasionally put it outside while I'm working.

I fixed mine the same way.
