On a 84 150 what would be the largest tire to safelly run without needing a lift and still be safe offroading (nothing to extreame). And what about running 35's, 4" of lift?

Whats the biggest tire to safely run on a 302 without boggin it down.

My 94' is stock & 31's are pretty much filling up the wheel wells.. Especially in the front.. I'd go 6' inches with 35's unless you want to do some fender trimming...

Go over to Fullsizebronco.com

Look in the 80-96 section. There's a sticky talking about different lifts and tires.

35s will fit. There are plenty of guys over there with 4"s of lift with 35s.

I've seen 33x12's fit just fine stock on the 87+ trucks, and with minor trimming on the 80-86's

when I started out, I had plow coils up front(1" lift maybe) and it cleared 34x9.50 swampers(the best damn tire a stock truck can run, IMHO) Then I added a 3" body lift, and fit 35x12's with no rubbing

here (http://www.tech.mtu.edu/~jawagone/random/P1010121.JPG) is what mine looked like with a 3" bl and 35's

hack the fenders out a bit and throw the 35's on

If the springs are in decent shape, you should be able to clear 33's as is, and 35's with trimming... or a 3" BL....

33x12.5x15 on this 81 f-150. no lift and only rubs when i fully compress the front suspension. the rear tires tucked nicely into the fender wells. although they did rip out the weather crap in the back quite quickly. this is one tired suspension btw.

Or hack the fenders a lot and get 44's.

seriously though, your axles are going to be your limiting factor as to how big a tire you can run. 35's would be safe... I just can't imagine lifting something to run 35's though. thats just me though
