Besides the bore differences, what are the other differences in the blocks from the early oddfire V6's and the later evenfire v6's? I picked up an m38a1/cj3a project with a busted 225 oddfire, and I need to find a block.

Here's a link to what changes happened when with the Buick V6

http://gnttype.org/general/v6hist.html

The 225 cid block has a different cylinder bore than the later 231 cid (3.8 liter) blocks. There were also changes to the water passages over time so later heads will not work with the early blocks.

I know the bores are different (see first post), I'm talking more about how the blocks were changed to accept the six-throw crank, versus the older three-throw crank. I have researched this, but haven't read anything on how the blocks were changed for the different cranks. I guess I should have been more clear.

It talks about the crank design changing in the article. Reread the first part.

I actually read all that information a few days ago. It doesn't mention if the block was changed to accomodate the different crankshaft, or if any changes were needed. Thanks for all the replies, though.
