Depends on brand, condition, quality, etc. If it's a decent brand and everything is in order, sounds like it might be a good deal.

Victor is good. But, they do make different grades. Get the model numbers (over the phone before you go if possible) and call a local welding supply asking the price of new ones, and what a good used one would be worth. I'm no expert but I think $250 for a Victor setup with tanks and accessories would be sweet, if they are the good (pro) quality. But, don't take my word for it, call a local shop, that's exactly what I would do...

Make sure the tanks are up to date. If there out of date you will have to have them tested and if they fail there no good.

I paid $100 for a pretty sad set up, but for two big ownership bottles, hose, and a crappy cart, I just couldn't turn it down. Hell, the bottles were the bigger ones, hard as hell to move around, but worth quite a bit to buy new.

Need to see if they are ownership bottles, that will also make a difference.

If the actual torch is a SMITH buy them! I see in the mags like eastwood and northern they have the small set by victor for $250 new with tanks and my buddy just said he also seem them up lowes for that cost! as long as you do not use them every day you will be fine!!!
