what a pain in the ass it was to get the rear half circle gasket thingy on and right, or at least as good as it gets. any tricks for the next time i do an oil pan

Next time, see if you can use a 1-piece 1990+ 460 pan gasket. You'll have to pull out the hole reinforcement spacers from the gasket for the four larger corner oil pan bolts but other than that, mine worked perfectly.

460 4 piece gasket is a bitch.

1 piece gasket or it almost seems easier to just pull the motor :eek:

Just put those old end gasket in the trash ! Here is what U do, Go to a good part store & ask for the Right Stuff made by Permatex ! U can't go wrong ! In 25 yrs. as a Mechanic, this the best !! Whitey;)
