I got this 1977 f-350 and I drove it home from northern Indiana to Central Indiana with no problems. I started working on quite a bit of the truck, and now that I have been test driving it, the front left caliper locked up on me. So i pulled it apart and put it back on and its working fine now, although I noticed that when I push the brake pedal down it stays down quite a ways, and if you put your foot under it you can pop the pedal back up about an inch. What is the problem here? Bad calipers? booster? master cylinder? somthing out of adjustment? Any ideas and/or help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the piston is sticking in the caliper and not pushing the fluid back which would make your pedal come back up

yep sounds right, whatever caliper was giving you trouble needs to be replaced...... just that simple. also check your pads.... might have killed em while staying stuck against the rotor. when you do put the new caliper on, make sure to atleast scuff up the rotor surface a lil, b/c chances are that it got a lil hot while the caliper was sticking.
