What should I gap my new spark plugs at? I did team rush Ford cap upgrade with msd 8.5mm wires and 45 volt msd coil. Stock is .035. stock coil is 20k volts.
my old plugs were very white and ashy looking. what does that mean?

White, ashy looking plugs could mean that your timing is too far advanced, or you're running too lean. Could also be the result of using too many "snake oils", Duralube, Slick 50 or similar junk.
On my 75 401 I gapped the plugs to .045, and advanced my timing to 10*. Made quite a big difference. However, I used the stock TFI coil from an 88 F350...don't know which is better...MSD or TFI, heard either way. HTH

I have no clue on how to do timing. I have added STP a couple times to try to help with the lifter ticking.
