Check out the doors, probably my favorite part of the rig. Really ties the back into the front in my opinion.

That's about it for now. The goal is to have it ready by Dixie Run, which is going to be close. This guy is a real family man, and really only able to work on it a few nights out of the week and on the weekends. But, with a little help, I think we'll be able to make it.
SickRock 08-18-2006, 04:57 AM Thats looking great!!! Keep up the good work!!!:D :smokin:
fullygruntled 08-18-2006, 06:31 AM Nifty!
We need more pics and updates.
ACHASE6002 08-18-2006, 06:51 PM nice orginal style, kinda get tired of the cookie cutter buggies
ChicksDigWagons 08-21-2006, 12:37 AM I'm a fan of the FSJs for sure. Though, I can't believe you considered that body to be beat to death!!! I can't remember the last time I saw a FS Cherokee in that good of shape. lol.
In any case, the tubework looks good :-) I have a J10 pulled apart that had a body that was truely and honestly junk that I've been contemplating tubing out... Maybe someday.
Rick1975 09-03-2006, 10:17 PM I like the look of how you did the hood. Any more pics of this rig, possibly on the trail?
jeepeatsleep 09-03-2006, 10:56 PM Thats pretty freaken sweet. Never would have thought to use that platform. NICE
Sorry guys, I've been very lax on taking pictures. I'll get some up next week. We've got the rear 4 link finished, just wanting on 4 inch coil springs. I've got the dash and console almost finished. We're in the home stretch to finishing it. Pictures soon to follow.
bigun 09-04-2006, 10:17 AM If you are into FSJs check out IFSJA.org lots of us over there there was also a thread here that had everybody checking in. There is also a buggy built from FSJ parts and a BTF frame.
Here is my hybred CROM A cross between a 76 Cherokee and a 75 J20

RKCRAWLER 09-05-2006, 02:58 PM Looks good. Love the grill and hood!!CLASSIC.............Keep the pics comming.
COXIE 09-05-2006, 03:18 PM Nice looking rig. Would have done this with my Waggy but it had a rough way to go with a tree and a club member trying to "recover it" This made the frame to damaged to reuse and started the YJ build that I wheel now.
Good luck to you. Looking forward to seeing more pics of it.
toastedsogood 09-05-2006, 04:04 PM looks awesome

Sorry guys, we haven't had time to eat we've been working so much, much less take pictures. Finished up the dash/console tonight, and the floor. Lots of little shit left, and Dixie Run is only 2 weeks away. I will try my best to remember my camera.

Those doors look like they have hindges, they dont actually open do they???, great loonign build so far
jeeper89 09-16-2006, 02:53 AM hey desertsport... look at the second from last pic in your quote...the doors are open.
desertsport 09-16-2006, 10:46 AM Those doors look like they have hindges, they dont actually open do they???, great loonign build so far
yea thanks, dont know how I could have missed that. Anyway how are you going to make the doors latch?
Sorry about the camera, I was borrowing a buddy of mine's.
The doors latch. We took a 1/2" piece of round bar and put a 90* bend in it. Then welded a piece of 1/2" id tubing to the door for the bar to slide in, and then a piece to the tube body. Also put a stop on the door so the round bar doesn't fall out, and a "L" shaped piece for the round bar to flip down into when the door is latched so it doesn't come open going down the trail.
I know that's about as clear as mud, I'll try to get a picture of it.
sammeeks351 09-19-2006, 08:29 PM likes the dash!
lol andrew.....garret have you done anymore to your p.o.s.???
huntingmatt418 09-21-2006, 09:37 PM Looks really good, so good that I might steal some ideas for my build. I love the functioning doors. Keep up the good work!!!!
sammeeks351 12-13-2006, 10:45 PM hows the buggy coeming along:question:
Sorry man, I forgot about this thread. We thrashed and got it to Dixie Run. We've had it out for about 2 runs, and it worked really good. The rear end is a little light, so we may need some type of nitro shock. Let me see if I can find pictures...

That's about the only 2 I have that are decent. We still have to paint it, durabak the floor, put hood pins in, and get more downforce in the back, but other than those few things it's done.
Next is my rig. Hopefully I will be able to start a thread in a couple weeks. College budget builup, nothing big, just a d44 front, 14b rear, 4 link rear with c/o, and 37s.
sammeeks351 02-07-2007, 11:56 AM lol i had kinda forgoten about this one too!
i was gonna say how about adding water or lead shot to your tires for weight...
but you just need more weight over the axle dont ya?
