ive got the LP D44 HD 8 lug front end under my 77F250 and when i was looking through my summit catalog and for the first time ever saw that superwinch makes the external type hubs for these axles..... does anyone else make em???? warn? mile marker?? ill gladly use the superwinch ones, as any aftermarket ones will be a step up from the stockers...... if anyone has feedback on them please post up. thanks

Not too sure about Superwinch or Mile Marker, but I used Warn external hubs on my Highboy. A friend of mine also used Warns on his Highboy.

the superwinch site specifically states D44 HD and D60 and oif course they are totally diff.... same with mile markers site.... though their chart is toally F'd up.....

Sorry, but I won't be able to get you that part number. Both axles have been replaced. I went to a 79 D44 HP, and my friend went with a 79 D60 HP. His axle was a D44 LP with the enclosed nuckles. He swaped out because he blew out his ring and pinion, I swaped out because it was getting hard to find 76 D44 LP parts (and $100 for a D44 HP was alot better than the $1500 my friend paid). We did get the Warn lockouts from a place called Scientific in Saginaw, MI. They are a Hevy truck repair facility. But, it was also back around the early 90's when we ran those lockouts.

I've got warn premiums on my 75 highboy. 6 3/8 bolts to the hub, with the 6 allen screws. The 4wd shop had them on the shelf, $140 in 2000.
