Hey, if you are good friends with Brent and Linda why did you order some stuff from Trail Gear and start bashing the service you recieved:confused: Was it suppose to make T.G. look bad since you are a dealer the Trail tough:confused: If so it does'nt make them look very good.
raceshop 08-21-2006, 08:38 PM i just started dealing with trail tough a few weeks ago. customer service is great,so are the products. couldnt ask for anything more:cool2:
RokNRollr 08-21-2006, 09:45 PM [QUOTE=tinbeater]Hey, if you are good friends with Brent and Linda why did you order some stuff from Trail Gear and start bashing the service you recieved:confused: What is your point here? One thing has nothing to do with another Was it suppose to make T.G. look bad since you are a dealer the Trail tough:confused:I think you should mind your own business and stop causing trouble, Were you there when it happened, did you place the order, or realize that TG did indeed mess up,? if you are too ignorant to comprehend what I had wrote in the posting then you are immature. The posting was a reflection of what happened when I had placed the order, yes indeed TG did screw up no ands or buts and he did send the product to the wrong address on top of that. it's called feedback and if you take it in the wrong way thats your problem it's an opinion, what part of this do you not understand. The ones who can not comprehend made it into bashing.
doesn't make them look any good. What does this have to do with TT, Brent or Linda? Do you see anybody who is a dealer for TG going out of their way to help out a customer here on the board???? All I see is alot of talk, what do you do to promote TG besides shoot off your mouth? Did you offer to help Eric from this posting?
Do you take time out of your busy day to make a sales for TG or promote their business or helpout their customers??? I went out of my way to help Eric out-Did you offer to resolve any of the issues with TG besides shooting your mouth off. It is easy to just talk, doing is another. you need to take this elsewhere. Brent and Linda of TT has nothing to do with a personal order I placed with TG.
It's not bashing, if you can not comprehend and interpret what has been posted then you are bashing. I was just a customer placing an order with TG. They dropped the ball, I didn't go looking for it.

Wow! I guess you really care what others think. On the Pirate board that can be a very dangerous thing.... And bad for business. I don't think Brent wants flamers. Then again I might be wrong.

It has nothing to do with what others think, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BRENT & LINDA OR TRAIL TOUGH. This was a personal order with TG that went bad. I didn't go looking for it, it was TG's fault-no ands or buts. My intentions are not to flame,I and making myself clear and refuse to tolerate the nonsense. Why does it have to be dangerous and it has nothing to do with business. It's only dangerous here on the PB board when it is misinterpreted and people try to make it into something it's not or more than it is. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY INTIMIDATION.
Crab Bait 08-22-2006, 11:26 PM This board is GREAT! I just found my new bumper message to replace "What, still can't follow!?!' with I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY INTIMIDATION.

I very much agree:D They have been very good to me over the years. Rocnrollr just likes to ran his mouth, just look at his post in the general discusision about trail gear. His replies just shows how inmuture he really is.:shaking: PS. I have never ordered any parts from TG. but I did win a knuckel rebuild kit they donated to the Southern Shine event in Harlan Ky. this year. When he posted that he was a dealer for trailtough and after reading his post I think with his attitude it is going to make trailtough look bad. And I dont want to see that.

Yea that is how I was seeing it. I know I won't buy anything from Rocnrollr just because if I have a problem I don't want to get flamed.
RokNRollr 08-24-2006, 01:52 AM Yeh! whatever Tinbeater, Do you see megoing over to Chris Geiger's build up thread and mouthing off like you did to this thread and saying anything
With the exception of that one incident. You decided to hyjack this thread and just cause trouble.:shaking: Now what are you saying about making Trail Tough look bad?,That's what youare doing for TG and Chris by doing this.
This had happened months ago, you choose to rehash the issue. You are then the bashers and trouble makers.
zukipower 08-24-2006, 06:49 AM Hello,
I just want to say that Trailtough is a great company wiht a really good costumer service.
I was looking to strenght up my Axles, a friend of mine sayd that with my Setup that I drive I will also kill HD Axles.
Now I'm thinking about Spidertrax Axles, because I found some Axles in Europe, the shipping for all the other parts to build up my OEM Axles would be extremly high.
So what do you think guys, Spidertrax or has anybody another Idea.
RX-4X4 08-24-2006, 07:00 AM How easy is it to get toyota axles out where you are? That would be a great option. Also any solid axle from a gm, dodge, international, or jeep (wagoneer) would be good. But I understand that they are hard to come by out of the USA. The only down fall is that none of these setups are straigt installs.
zukipower 08-24-2006, 08:54 AM It's damn luck if you find here some Axles, because we don't have any junkyard ore something else:mad3:
I looked now, the spidertrax set up will cost me about 7000$ complete with everything that I need..that's really tuff.
How many of you ride 33" tires with stock axles?
To reinforce my Axles will cost me 3700$ what do you think should I do?

RokNRollr 08-24-2006, 12:13 PM Hello,

First and foremost we need to know what type of offroading you are doing, second we need to know what type of set up you currently have and budget you have to work with. In Europe Ford and Jeep do import to your county and axle upgrade possibility from these cars or trucks maybe
avaliable They tend to rename their vehicles so you'll have to do your home work here. Another option is that the US made Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport has a Dana 44 you can use for the rear.(This vehicle might be renamed different in your county) Also the Toyota diesel trucks have axles you can use.Land rovers,Mercedes-Benz also are an option in your county. What is your goal and purpose of your build up,will it be a daily driver, for offroad only, tire size, driveline, and set up all plays a roll on how well and durable your Samurai or Jimny will be. It's not always about how big an axle you put under your Samurai/Jimny to make it reliable and capable, it's how well you pay attention to detail and the way you set it up properly. What are your capabilities, are you able to or have acesss to fabrication or do you just want something that just drops in? There are a lot of factors here, please be a little more specific in details so that we know exactly what direction to point you in.
Samurai202 08-26-2006, 01:26 PM PersonallY I don't see what complaining about one company has to do with complimenting another. I like to hear if a particular company has treated customers good or bad. I dont think it has anything to do with some one selling parts for one of the companies. Hey maybe we could find a way to Bash RRO, I havent done that in awhile. If we started on that we could realy hijack the thread:mad3:
To the original poster-
You say that they dont have junkyards in europe. What do they do with all the old cars? I would think for the kind of money it is costing you to import this stuff you could buy a complete parts vehicle. Just go out an dlook for axles with a passenger drop front and a centered or passenger side rear axle. Front axle swaps could come from toyota's, chevy's, and Jeep Grand wagoneers. You could use the rear axles from those or look for the isuzu Dana 44 rear end, Yould get an 8.8 axle out of a Ford Explorer and then have custom shafts built with the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern. For a rear application you could also look at SKY's hybred rear toyota axle.
Some other things to think about would be:
Are you currently breaking your stock axles? How often? Front or rear?
Is it just birfields breaking?
If you keep the stock axles you could add birfield rings. I would also highly recomend that you truss both front and rear axles. If your not breaking stuff every trip just carry spares and you'll get pretty fast at changing them out:flipoff2:
zukipower 08-27-2006, 01:42 AM Hello again,
here in Luxemburg with have no Junkyard an over here vehicles with solid axles are quite rare.
And the shipping from another country would cost enormous. A freind of mine ride almost the same set up as I want to build, and he brokes about 7 times his front and rear axles.
My Set up will be a tuned 1600 8V with about 120hp (I'm looking for a charger:shaking: ) 6.1 t-case 5.12 R&P and 33" Simex tires. I drive a lot of trials, ore just playing in the mud, but I want to participate on the Rally Berlin-Breslau..
As you can see I ride almost all arts of Offroad, sometimes even Rock Crawling.
and the best on everything is, that it must be street lega:eek:
I don't have the possibility to weld on Axles, because my weldings are good for bumbers ore something else, but I don't go welding on parts where a 100% welding is required.
Thanks for help
Eric
T_MADD 08-27-2006, 08:28 AM I would think you could find a 93-97 landcruiser over there for that price. High pinion front, full floater rear, 4wheel disc's and factory lockers. Not to mention, birf's about 2x the size of mini's.
zukipower 08-28-2006, 04:20 AM Those LAnd Cruisers are so rare, and nobody sales this Axles, ore if he sale them, they will cost more than my suzuki Jimny!
Like I sayd, it's hard here to find good cheap axles, that's why I though to buy the Spidertrax. But they also cost about 6000$ ready to install.
jones 08-28-2006, 10:58 PM How much would it cost you to get a set of Toyota mini-truck axles shipped from North America to your location without including the purchase price?
Would you be able to get parts like bearings and seals for them over there? What about lockers and gears?
It'd be hard for me to justify the cost of the spidertraxx axles, but that's just me. I'd be sure to check out all the alternatives before I made a decision. :D
Samurai202 08-30-2006, 03:14 PM Well then with no junkyards, and few sources to get them from I see two options
1. Build something smaller
2. Cough up the dough for some spider trax or trail tough axles.
