Seen it...

They don't specify a straight 6 or 9 metric grade bolt..

I don't know if the hash means 6 or 9....

Thinking of card games, the hash or _ is at the bottom...

h3lp!

Well 8.8 is comparable to a g5 and 10.9 is about the same as gr8

Never seen a "6" on a bolt.

It *could* be a grade 8. Grade 8 = 6 hash marks

I vote a short way of saying 10.9. Just

.
9

Is the bolt metric or standard?

Is the bolt metric or standard?

It's a 12mm metric...

I've got some samurai bolts that have a 10, 7, or a 5 on them.. No " . " on them at all..

Hmph..

Thank you all for your input..

I can snap a picture if anyone wants?

take a picture...

I dont think its traditional metric grading because the "X.Y" on a metric bolt give info about the strength.

well, I'll be damned, there is such thing as a grade 6

http://www.sizes.com/tools/bolts_SAEtork.htm

I would expect the "." under the "6" to tell you it's a "6" and not a "9".

I think those markings mean you oughta throw it away and find something you KNOW is up to the task! :D

and I am sure that I would take the word of Hillco Fastener company over that of the ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials) :flipoff2:
