Is it better to install a cut off valve before of after the fuel pump (TBI) will the pump over work itself if I put it in after the pump or if i put it behind the pump will it burn itself out due to starving it from fuel?

thanks

1st Well you can't put one on behind the pump since it's in the fuel tank.

2nd the pump will shut itself off after a few sec. apone the fuel psi to the tbi

3rd yes you can burn one up cranking it over and over again with no fuel in the tank

4th if you are just trying to crank over the motor you can just pull the fuel pump relay it's on the firewall passinger side under the cover

the reason for the cut off valve is theft deterrent. and I have an in line fuel pump.
so which will do worse damage if it was to be run with the valve closed?
no fuel to pump, or pump overworking itself?

Its easier and safer just to put a switch under the dash to shut off the fuel pump. Just tie into the relay switch for the fuel pump.

Use the switch to complete the relay ground
