I know this is more of a JU (http://www.jeepsunlimited.com) question but i just dont like them guys. LMAO

So i sold a 87 YJ to a freind of mine. It had a bad tranny.

Its a 6cyl so i think it has the ba/10 tranny.

He found a ax-5 cheap and i dont know if they will swap.

Anyone know?

Its just a fawkin pavement pounder plain stock YJ so he doesnt care if its a POS or not. Just wants his reverse back.

Possibly--

IF he has a NP231 transfer case, He'll just need to swap out the input gear on his 231 from 21-spline to 23-spline. I think they cost about $130...

If he has a 207, I don't know. Call AA to see if the 23-spline input from a 231 will fit--it might. If they are different he might need a new transfer case.

Incidentally, I have an NP231/21 spline input with a Currie SYE already installed and a fully-functional BA-10/5 tranny (out of my '87 YJ) that I'd be willing to part with pretty cheap if he wants it.

HTH,
