Will someone tell me the true alternator belt tension (specification) for my 83 jeep cj7 with a 258 ci, 4.2 liter, 6 cyclinder, with no air conditiong:mad3: ?

Don't know if its for specification or not but usually 1/2" - 3/4" of defelction in the center of the belt is pretty close.

The chiltons manual I borrowed from the library read it shouldn't exceed 1\2 inch . thanks man
