Hey guys i am new registering here, this site is great, been browsing for a while.
anyways, my question is about the catalytic converter on the dodge trucks, have any of u cali residents gotten rid of it and installed dual exhaust? is it possible without messin up the sensors?
and if thats not possible, would turndowns right after the flowmaster be counterproductive? i tow a trailer full of moto's about once a month, just wondering if that will rob the engine of power.
any suggestions are appreciated.
thanks in advance

AFAIK, that is illegal. You are not allowed to remove/disable emission devices under Federal law.

In CA you get a visual inspection to make sure the proper emissions equipemnt is in place and then you have the sniffer test to make sure it is working properly.

There are products out there called O2 SIMMs that will plug into you O2 sensors and make them signal like they are working properly. Not sure about the legality of those things though.

true it is illegal. but lets say someone can get a smog anyways. is it worth it?

I have no idea. I noticed that when my cat was toast (burnt to almost nothing inside) it was definately louder, but I did not notice any real performance change after getting it replaced.

If you want you can get converters off of a 93 with factory dual exhaust and run them. After them put in a cross over pipe and install your o2 sensor in it,it worked great on my 96 with a 5.9
and should pass any tests.
