I have a 4.3 L vortec out of a 97 Blazer. This engine originally came with the remote oil filter. I am trying to ditch the remote filter and make it so the filter attaches directly to the block. I was told that it is simply a fitting that screws into the motor and the you screw the oil filter onto that. I cannot seem to find the part to do that anywhere, I have been to several GM dealers and they aren't very helpful.If anyone can clue me in on what part I need to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

You want the fitting off an earlier 4.3 without remote--parts guys can such knuckle heads sometimes, especially if it's 'not in the computor'

Do you have any idea what years didn't have the remote, would the older TBI's not have the remote?

Search in Gen 4x4, this was covered a couple weeks ago and the thread included part numbers..
