I have an old spare 10 bolt axle from a 1988 suburban rear. It uses u bolts instead of straps.

The 12 bolt in my scout is from a 76 blazer and one of the tabs that retains the u-joint is gone and i want to go u-bolt anyway.

Will the yoke swap over from the 10 to the 12? are they different shafts? the 10 bolt is a bit difficult to get to, especially if it isn't the same pinion shaft.

if not, is there a donar that will work?

Nope, 10 bolt pinion stem is bigger than the 12 bolt pinion. Other words, the 10 bolt yoke is bigger than the 12 bolt.
Next you will probably get slammed for asking 1/2 ton axle questions on this board.

call a driveline place, they can get you a U-bolt style yoke for your 12 bolt and its way beefier then stock too.
