: Extending the Wheelbase

I have an 88 Bronco and am preparing to swap 3/4 ton axles out of a 79 F-250 under it, because it still has the stock TTB and 8.8, which have held up very well in my and others opinions. It has 38x12.5x15 TSL's that are for the most part bald and am planning on 38x15x15 TSL's for my next set of tires. I am wanting more wheel base when I swap the 44 and rear 60 in. I know that extending the front is quite the pain in the ass because of complications with steering unless you go full hydraulic, but what about the rear? It has the stock wheelbase of 105" right now and I was going to try to get atleast 110" out of this swap. So what are some ideas on extending the rear and/or the front without going full hydraulic on the steering. I will be running coils up front and leaf springs out back if it matters. Thanks for any and all input, it is very much appreciated! :D

Weld some tube steel on the rear to extend the frame and relocate the steering box in front. I pushed the front end forward 4 1/2" on my CJ and just built a new mount for the box, it wasn`t hard at all. I don`t understand why you think you need to go full hydro to push your axle forward.

Thanks for the input..I don't know why I thought that maybe just from reading different subjects on extending your wheelbase and dealing with steering. I was mainly interested in moving the rear axle back. Do you HAVE to lengthen the frame or can you use different leaf springs? or move your shackles back? to get approximately 5-6"? I am not as concerned in moving the front forward and if I did it would just be a couple inches at most. I was thinking of lengthening the frame but was just wondering if there was an easier way, or if that is the easiest way...thanks any and all!
