Hey everyone I have a 94 ram 2500 CTD. My questions are about the axles. How strong is the front 60? Is it as strong as a standard Ford or Chevy Dana 60? I heard that the center disconnect made it weaker. Another question is that if I was going to sell them what are the front and rear(dana 80) worth? I haven't been able to find very much info on these anything would be great. Thanks

'94 Dodge has 30 spline inners, 33 spline outers, low pinion, central axle disconnect and unit bearings. The CAD isn't weak but it is another part

'94 Ford has 35 spline inners, 30 spline outers, high pinion, manual hubs, and servicable bearings.

Both have ball joints, the Dodge is heavier from my experience.

I can break my 60 with 37"s, and its the later 32 spline model.

The D80 is okay as well, 35 spline shafts (Ford has 37 spline shafts), big ring gear, shafts are easily breakable, but the center should hold up.

ramv maybe you can help with my question i posted a few days ago.I have a 99 2500 with 190,000 on it and i have not had to do anything to my front axle except 2 front sets of pads.I know i have big expences coming up like rotors ,unit bearings etc and i was wondering if the outers off of a ford or chevy would work so i could get locking hubs and regular bearings and so on?Thanks in advance if anyone knows this info.
