Nakedducks - Any help?...

We purchased what was understood to be everthing from the inner C's to the lockout hubs from a single wheel D60. He wanted $700 shipped for the parts, and although high, we needed the parts to get a customer's vehicle out and on it's way due to backordered parts. The deal was finalized over the phone and we had a clear understanding of the parts that would be coming and I sent the money order out the same day. I heard back from him in a week saying that later that week he'd get the parts together and ship. I knew right then it would be a slow delivery so I urged him to get the parts out as quickly as posssible.

One month later I received two rusty pitted spindles in the mail. He claimed the rest had been sent back to him for bad packaging... (last time UPS returned something to me for bad packaging was about never). I took it with a grain of salt and after another week I was able to get ahold of him via phone. He said he had been having family issues or something to that effect and reassured me my parts were already on their way.

One month later I received two rusted out outer knuckles, two unusable brake caliper mounts, two calipers (cores) and the hubs. Nothing else ie. inner knuckles, kingpin plates or bearingsno top plates, no spindle nuts or lock out hubs and what was send was pretty much useless. See pics -

Check out how much material was left on the brackets after rust removal... Chris said that that was normal from a truck that came from Rhode Island... would have been nice to know that BEFORE the sale :shaking: ...

Aaron wasn't too happy with the shape of the knuckles apparantly :flipoff2: I guess that's one way to get those pesky top plates off... Just pound em' off with a sledge right???

His phone number is now changed, does not answer emails and his PM box is full. We offered to return the parts for a refund but were denied. We were denied any kind of compensation and had to just go out a buy everything again, putting us 2.5 months behind and losing the trust of a good customer which is worse than the lost $700.

It's hard to argue the quality of 20 year old used parts, but there's no arguing about missing parts. Get a price together of the missing parts. (inner c's, bearings, seals, nuts, kingpin kits, lockouts, rotors, etc) and post it up along with his address. I'm sure we can find someone to go collect that price out of him.

Well considering we only used the hubs, caliper brackets and the calipers as cores I'd say $500 is due back to us. I'll dig up the address if I can. Thanks -Jeff

i must have needle gunned several pounds of rust off of that stuff. i understand 20 year old parts having rust, but this stuff except for the spindles and hubs was unusable. the posted pics are after i cleaned them up. this stuff was unbelievable.
the seller was a douche. we should get at least the 500 back. he had beat on one of the knuckles and mushroomed in the upper kingpin hole. almost couldn't fit the nylon insert in. plus the studs wouldn't line up. had to basically rebuild the knuckles.:shaking:

I figured him out a few years back when doing some business with him. I bought a truck from him, turned out he needed the money to pay someone back... what he was doing was finding axles for sale but didn't have the money to buy them up front. He would sell the axles online for more than the asking price, then once payment was recieved, he would go buy the axle and then ship it out. As you can imagine, selling parts you don't own yet can cause problems, a few of them went bad when he couldn't get the axles he had already sold and already spent the buyer's money and couldn't afford to refund, hence the buyer was just screwed out of $100s.... I think this is the guy who was stalking my girlfriend here in Birmingham. He was telling her he knew where she lived and where she worked and other things. He had been harassing her for a while before I met her and she didn't tell me about it for a while after we got together.
