So the saga of passing emissions continues. I've replaced BOTH 02 sensors, realizing all kinds of fun power issues, troubleshooting a fuel pump, running a new circuit, relay, etc...to it.
Anyway, I'm still showing a 44 code on the ECU. Is this a new code, or is this a stored code? Curious that I did see a 45 code when the right 02 sensor was unplugged.
How can I clear the ECU? Is it just a matter of unplugging it?
Thanks! Oh yeah...:flipoff2:

#44 on the little "brown" box on the Classic ?
I think there's a more glam way to do it, but I just unhook the battery on the '94 Disco ... wait a minute or two and re-connect ....
Usual caveat about having the the radio code in hand applies...

Key on, engine off. Disconnect serial mating plug. count to ten, reconnect. Turn key off, listen for relay to drop. Turn key back on-should have reset the code unless there is a hard fault that remains after resetting. In your case, if the oxygen sensor circuits still go to ground after resetting, the code will appear. When you do the serial disconnect dance, you are clearing any stored codes int he ECU. Remember how crude I said that EMS is.

.... Disconnect serial mating plug....
The plug that goes into the ECU ?
Is there a reason to do this instead of the battery dosconnect ?
Mmmmm, "crude EMS" my favorite ;)

Yes, by disconnecting the serial mating plug, the ECU retains power and it is more a warm boot versus cold boot. The serial mating plug is the white five-pin connector under your glovebox and under Mike's passenger seat.

Well, just drove 2 hours north to Logan. Computer didn't throw any codes, runs pretty good, did notice a bit better gas mileage (could have been the tail-wind though...).
Warm boot = good.

Yeah, but it was marginal. I did throw a 44 code after all.
