Sorry guys, I did search but came up lacking...

I am putting a 87 5.0 EFI engine into my brothers rig and he wants to run it carbed for simplicity. Here are the parts I am thinking that we would have to gather/buy to get it going, feel free to add/subtract from it.

*Intake manifold
*Carb
*Ignition system (duraspark II 1977+)
-Distributor
-Ignition module
-Coil
-Wiring harness
*Accelerator linkage
-79-85 V8 Mustang
-Throttle cable bracket
-TV cable

This is all that I could think of at the momment.

(wishing I hadn't sold all my cougar parts now)

Get a distributor from an '85 Mustang, the 87's stock roller cam will get destroyed if you use something with an iron distributor gear.

Can the gear be swapped with a steel one?

^Except for the 4160 and offroad. If I were going 4bbl I would def get a qjet instead.

Well, I would respectfully disagree with that, based on my own expirance, and that of other people I know.
But you know what they say about opinions...

I guess it just depends on what you're planning on doing with the truck...

Avoid duraspark all together, its an over complicated piece of crap IMO. Get an HEI distributor, about $160, and be done with it.

My choices:
-Edlebrock Performer intake
-Quadrajet
-Proform HEI conversion dizzy
