I know there has to be a few guys here using them as car hauler/tow rigs..
I found a place that sells used buses. I want to get one and cut it up for a hauler but I'm curious if they could handle a Full size rig weighing in at about 7-8K. Also curious what brand bus to consider as in i know very little about large truck engines/reliability/features...
Thoughts?

it all depends on what you want?
a ,to make a flet bed with living space
b,to have just a flat bed
c,to just tow
i have a 71 seater with a tilt flat bed with lots of living space,8.3 cummins diesel motor and its can haul and tow at the same time with no problems
if you are looking to buy one i can give you a web site if you are interested
bluebird is a good solid built bus and can handle the weights easily and has a 3/4 inch plywood floor that with a little recommended reinforcement you will not have to do much work to carry your rig
also most of them after 1983 came with diesel motors, and can be got for a descent price
i would look for the 8.3 cummins which is in mostly the 71 seater ,the smaller 5.9 c came in all the buses but i would only recommend that motor if you plan on towing or hauling in mostly flat areas especially in the larger buses otherwise stay with the smaller than 65 seater
