Ladder bar, including reworking exhaust for 2 1/4' pipes from the 1 7/8' pipes I have now.

Then, crawler box and larger tires.

right now? do laundry then bed.

i've sourced a tranny (and spare t-case), and so far have sold my bolt in bar and have maybes on some of the larger parts

need to have my fabricator install the tranny, then I get to install terra windows and do my rear brakes (oily from bad seal).

also gotta relpce door locks, mine are rusted in place.

convert to the terra top.

then i get to put a new radiator in the 'stang, fix the liftgate struts, drivers seatbelt and give it a tune up. then it's up for sale

I spent this week leaning on a drill press to get the GO parts done.. Working on the STOP part now. Should be doing the final tests next weekend:D

I have to fab a compressor bracket for a Rover D-90 also (damn friends);)

Try to open up rear fender wells to STUFF 37's WITHOUT retubbing!

Measure travel...order shocks

Then get brakes working....need to bleed them and figure out what else I *MIGHT* need.

Get electrical problem figured out.

Then register the ScoutII

Finally drive vehicle regularly....FINALLY

Sound easy enough

:rainbow:

It's a sad day. :(

I have to R&R another valve cover on the 200, remove the exhaust flapper and seal up that leak.. maybe get the clutch fan swapped off the Scout and into the truck.

Mount up the West Coasters.

Fix a tail-light on the trailer.

Weld the fenders back onto my trailer, and maybe finish fabbing the drive-over ramps..

Then drive 100 miles to pick up a free '75 150 pickup. :D

Next week I have a front driveshaft to R&R (U-joints) and hood-pins to re-install on the racer.

Then go show up all the mall-runners and play ramp-queen with it next Saturday. :D

Hmm,

Engine
Finish up the detail work on the fan and fan shroud. Need spacer and shroud to finish.
Once the fan is installed then I can install the belt for the OBA compressor and trouble shoot the clutch not engaging
Good tune-up with might rebuild points distributor, add Jacobs or MSD ignition
Find a way to fix the fawking exhaust leak

Suspension
Score the 36's in the for sale section (5 for $525)
Finish the details from the SOA:
New spring plates
New u-bolts
Mount the new shocks
Trim fenders
Lower the upper front brake line brackets
Install bump stops
Build brace for front rear spring mount

Fab Stuff
New sliders, 2x2 .250 wall this time
New rear bumper with carrier to hold spare
New cage

Interior
Gut the interior, fix the same rust problems in the corners
Bed liner
Build storage unit for the rear
Build new dash with all new gauges

Drive Train
Rebuild spare 727
Build case with terra gears
Regear the axles
Weld ass end

Yep. A fo-by-fo.

We'll see what kind of shape it's in.. supposedly it's pretty nice.

If it's half as nice as I've been lead to believe, it's not getting parted out... my Travelall is (or sold/scrapped/whatever) :D

On your spare 727 rebuild.. will you be going with the Dodge/Jeep tailhousing and run a Jeep 300? Or a NP203/205 doubler? Or...

Lots of options there instead of a simple Tera-Low Dana 20..

ScoutsHonor

Hmm... I change my mind about 400 times a day... so these plans will change in about 5 minutes... but the Rubber Ducky has taken a new direction. I bought a new tub to massacre.. and instead of cutting the back all the way off and leaving it off (don't know if you guys saw the pics or not) I'm going to shorten it 18 inches and then weld it back on. We're putting 99 F*RD SuperDuty Cut-Out Fender Flares on.... and I've almost got the motor mounts for the TPI 350 done.... should have the drivetrain installed in about 2 weeks.... and then begin body work. Hydraulic steering is being built by Wagoner Machine Shop in Claremore, OK, with a downtime of about 4 weeks for that... after that the Ducky should be READY TO ROLL!

Its been almost a damn year.... and the wait has killed me...everytime I see the crawlers on the trailers headed to Clayton or wherever, it just motivates me more...

:D

All that work and you're going to pull the IH 'mill and try to replace it with a SMALL BLOCK?

Not selling the Scout...yet, just frustrated that summer is coming (FAST) and I have a lot of work to do before it is ready. Okay, I'm done venting, back to work on the Scout.

The appeal of a brand new Chevy crate motor w/ TPI on it for $400 was too much for me to pass up... the TPI works beautifully... and I just couldn't say no... if I ever blow it up.... a 392 will go in its place.... I haven't torched the old motor mounts out yet.. so I'm still toying with the idea of building a fuel injected 345... but I just don't know...

SSIIprop

Install VDO gauges in dash. Then pull 345 out of the Scout to fix the rear main seal leak and clean it up. Also need to either retap the oil drain plug hole or get a new pan as mine is stripped.

So many plans, so little time. First, I need to finish this semester out, my second to last :D . My last final iis on May 14th. In between then and starting work on the 27th, I need to

replace bearings and pads on driver's siide,
put new hubs on,
take it wheeling once with the old body,
then, I can:
clean up the new body I bought,
Cut front fenders, re-tub and cut rears,
bedline interior,
Make new dash for autometer guages,
take my old body off and part it out,
put new body on, using new body mounts from enrgy suspension,
get 33's to fit,
take it wheeling more over summer,
sometime by end of summer, get detriots and 4.56's,
get new winch front bumper and tire carrier rear bumper made,
wheel it more over the fall,
put lift on aroung X-mas time,
fit 35's,

Oh MANN! I can't believe you said that! How long has YOUR boat been waiting to be finished? You know, the one blocking your Scout...hehehehe.

Scouter....you scared me! Don't do that again. :vader2:

This weekend I'm picking up a FREE '76 Scout II. I don't have the room or time to dismantle so I'm taking some goodies from it (rollcage, soft top, windshield frame) and letting another Scout addict take the rest ( he's doing the towing and I get my "finders fee") Oh, I may even wash/ wax the '80......

Good plan, kinda expensive for junkyard axles...our yard charges $100 for a full axle. I guess we're spoiled.

Steering. Don't know WTF I'm going to do yet.

Give me a call, I got ya covered there.

Good move, wheelin stinks with winy kids.

Install headders!

Vroom Vroom ~ but not as important as ....

Full roll cage.

I'd personally do this first. Nothing beats safety, particularly when you have kids, It took me a day to decide to do the cage after I got the 38s on it. Even the thought of Matthew falling out talked me into door bars and a caged rear seat.

My thoughts.
