not sure if this the right place to post,i'm sorry if it's not
? is i'm looking at a 05 f-250 superduty tomorrow to buy.
6.0 motor
leather
tow pack
and basically has alotta stuff
4'' lift with aftermarket rims- 18" i beleive with nitto tires- 33"
truck is clean with 37,630 on the dial.
price is 31,500
came down from 35,900
but i still think it's high compared to local listings that are close to the same ride and comin in around 24 to 27.
minus the lift and t/r combo, wich the dealer could care less about anyway.
edmunds is tellin me that trade in price is about 16,900,this guy's tellin me they took this truck in for 30,000 wich i think is a load of shit.also i'm buyin two vehicles at the same time, this one and a brand new 06 HHR for my wife. whatta you guy's think? am i takin it in the stink or what? at 31,500.

well i know that a non loaded 6.0 06 F250 ext cab short bed if walking off some lots here for 30k........brand new, so if you figure youve still got 70k warranty left on the motor, youve got decent rims and tires, and if youve got leather im assuming all the options too. doesnt sound like all that bad of a price to me, if you consider that stock it probably left the lot for a touch under 40k
call that dealers bluff. tell him he's got 5 minutes to get the paperwork showing how much they gave on that trade in. I bet its more like 22

I seen a couple 04's going for more than $35k here in CA. You probly wont find a better deal at a dealer. but they are most likely feeding a load of shit on what they paid for it. like 82FB said it was probly more like 20 to 22k.

Maybe if it was a F-350.Seems like a lot to me.$31,000 could probably get you a new F-250.Shop around a bit more.
Especially since you wanna buy two vehicles...you could probably get a better deal elsewhere. My .02

Prices between Cali and GA are going to be a bit different. Like 82FB says, call their bluff, I too agree they probably didn't give more than 18-20 on it. Most dealers criteria is they need to make a certain amount on it $2k for example. I bet you could get that truck for about 25k if you are buying another vehicle too.

Can you really do this? Is the dealership required by state laws to show the invoice on the price they paid for a vechile?
no, not required to, but if he wants to make a sale it will show real quick whether he's lying or not. If he says hes not allowed to give out that information or some other crap like that, then you tell him hes full of it, and offer him something less
and the five minutes part is just so he doesn't have time to go "manufacture" some paperwork with the numbers he quoted you on it. get the idea I don't trust most dealers?
