Snagged an almost perfect factory YJ tub. What is going to be the best way to keep it from rusting. Both a bottom coating as well as the top sides ?
Spray undercoat in a can ?
POR stuff ?
Herculiner ?
Weasel spit ?
I will have the time to do it right so lets do something that will last !!
Excited and now poor in Michigan
Thanks

I live in the rust belt and I have always used a product called LPS. Its a thick wax like liquid that I spray on everething every October before the snow flys. I like it because its not permanent, it will last a year or so before it washes off. Por 15 is fine, ive used it then covered it with LPS. Works nice. The best would prolly be to rhnoline the bottom of the tub and floors. Its more expensive but it will last forever.

A cheaper solution to rihno lining or similar product would be to use Eastwoods 2 part expoxy bedliner coating and do it yourself. You might even want to put down a coat of their Rust Encapsulator first, then the bedliner coating, (Gator Guard).

The best would be rhino lining it. If you have the time and the dough to do it right, get it rhinoed top and bottom. You can even do the outside of it instead of painting.
My second choice would be herculiner, 3rd undercoating

If you use undercoating, get the kind that actually dies. I've had some undercoating in my fenders for almost two moneths and I can go stick my fingers in it and move it around like I just sprayed it. Kinda makes me mad, but a pressure washer made short work of it.
