: Front Driveshaft Vibration

Before posting this, I DID A SEARCH!!! So, LAY OFF!!:flipoff2:

As I had expected, I got a wicked vibration from my front driveshaft after installing the Danas. In order to not fawk up caster, I left the front diff angle original, that is about 3 to 5 degrees up from horizontal. The t-case, a homemade (and workinī GREAT) GRS 2 style box, is mounted in the stock position on re-enforced arms, around 6 to 7 degrees down from horizontal. Result, Iīve got around a 12 degree angle difference between the output of the t-case and the input of the diff. Not to mention the vertical offset from the lift. What to do??

If I lived in NA, Iīd likely go for a bought solution. However, here in the jungles of SA, circumstances dictate that i need to come up with something homemade. I could build something using two CV joints out of a VW bus (donīt laugh, theyīre strong as hell) or try to find a double cardan to hack up and use. Considering that I really donīt wanna havta reposition the front pumpkin, which would be better?? Since itīs for the front shaft, Iīm not worried about high speed. Just want something that wonīt vibrate and end up :nuke: my t-case...

TIA

you are going to have to go CV. you really have no other choice. if you can go double CV, you would be vibe free for life. that is just about your only choices!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: welcome newbie!!

the problem is not necessarily axle related. The Samurai's tcase is tilted upward from the factory. This puts the ujoints out of phase from the get-go. The taller you go, the more out of phase the ujoints will become and vibrations will increase.

Options are to not drive fast in 4WD, or get a CV driveshaft that can take the funky angles.
