I have been a Toyota fan all of my life it is pretty much everything I have owned. I wheel with a land rover guy who has two older style range rovers so I have always respected them but felt they were overpriced and large. Until last night, I went up to a friends (Keep in mind I am 18 and he is mid 30's)house and he asked if I would do him a favor I said sure he handed me a key and asked if I would take his kids to their friends houses. He said the car was in the garage. Without looking at the key I walked into his garage to find a brand new 06 Range Rover. His kids were already inside so I got in and asked them how they liked their new vehicle as I was taking them to their friends houses. They both thought it was nice and then the older boy told me he thought his dad only bought it because it was SuperCharged :smokin: I had no idea until that point. He told me to press on the gas... And without even knowing it I was going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone! So of course we found a road where we could test it out and he said to step on it. OMG the throttle response on that thing is simply amazing! You can get going really fast without even knowing it the engine is so quiet. After all was said and done I now respect Land Rovers more than ever and desperately want one. You guys have awesome vehicles made very well. Anyone else have a supercharged land rover? I looked up some specs on them 15 second quarter mile and 0-60 in just under 7 seconds...not bad at all for an Suv.

That's nice. You romped on a car that wasn't yours, and went speeding around while someone elses kids were in the vehicle.
Something tells me that this will take care of itself.

Sorry I didn't have any extreme rockcrawling tech in their. I was just curious if anyone had checked out the new supercharged range rovers. And no I didn't put his children in harms way as soon as I realized I was going 50 in the 30 I slowed down and I never pushed the vehicle hardly at all. This is a good friend who lets me borrow his brand new 23 foot Cobalt. He has a lot of trust in me and I don't intend to ever break that. But back to the subject has anyone checked out the new superchargers?

Maybe the Yota forums are different, but here we look for posts with technical content. Of any sort. Whatsoever. And citing quarter-mile times on a rock crawling website is like citing bust sizes of nuns on a convent website.
Please take your crappy child endangering stories elsewhere. Maybe there's a pedophilia website you frequent where people would be interested in this?

I hadn't seen the 'Landroversonly' site before so I paid it a visit.
I saw this -
"Is ther a product to touch up Alpaca Beige leather?"
on their forums, and beat a rapid retreat! :shaking:

After all was said and done I now respect Land Rovers more than ever and desperately want one. You guys have awesome vehicles made very well.
First of all, you've been a Toyota fan all your life? All 18 years of it...what, did your folks have an old Cressida when you were in diapers and it just impressed the fuck out of you? But why would anybody argue with you? Toyota produces some of the most reliable vehicles on the planet, albeit as bland as Raman noodles, almost completely void of soul or passion. And any vehicle they've produced that may have defied their life-long philosophy of utilitarianism, they killed off right quick (e.g. Supra Turbo, MR2 Turbo, Celica All-Trac Turbo...).
But your 18 years of Toyota lovership (I suppose maybe a year or two of actual OWNERSHIP) must have prepared you well for your assessment of the new Range Rover. Congratulations...it took supercharged Viagra to give you a woody over poorly-constructed British vehicles; reliability be damned. It's akin to a Prius owner jumping ship because a Cadillac SUV has 400 hp. And we should all be flattered that you think so highly of our "awesome vehicles," yet the reality is nobody wheels a supercharged Range Rover...most of us have the mere mortals of the Land Rover line-up. Yes, the underpowered fat-pigs that Land Rover has churned out for decades: Discovery's and older Range Rovers. I'm certain our fascination with these trucks are not because they are well-made, or even that they are awesome (quite the opposite). Rather, our interests in Rovers is synonymous with the shut-in down the street who needs to own 87 cats; synonymous with adopting the mangy, 3-legged mutt at the shelter; synonymous with the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. Sympathy, I suppose...though, more likely, mental instability. I would only hope you choose to vote using the same logic and esteemed values.
So, I invite you to join the fold of Land Rover ownership. You sound like a wise man, and you'll need all 18 years of your infinite wisdom to keep a Land Rover out of the shop and running, without fatally injuring your bank account. Otherwise, next time you're approached by a group of Girl Scouts, buy a few boxes of Thin Mints and look the fawk out!!!
