Picked up a 14 bolt today.Has 4:56 gears open diff.Plan was to regear the front D44 to match and run maybee 38"ers.I got to thinking of running 40"ers inthe rear and keep the 36"ers up front.Then keep looking for a cheap D60.What do you guys think?
PS looked at the gear calc.and this combo matches.

I'd keep what you've got until you get a 60 to match the front. Your truck will look goofy with different tire sizes and it will put extra strain on the drive train if your running on terrain with good traction.

Should be no extra strain if the axle gears make the tire revolutions match.

But it will look "interesting".
