: Where to get 1.5 inch bore ram cylinders
TheNerple 04-26-2002, 02:11 PM Ok so I got my box drilled and taped with 1/4 npt and figured I'd use either 3/8 or 1/4 inch hydraulic hoses and a 1.5 inch cylinder. But I am unable to find where people are getting the 1.5 cylinder and my search is not coming up with any answers. I looked on Northern tool and all I see are 2 inch bore and those seem to be a bit slow. So I'd like to find a cheap but reliable 1.5 inch bore 8 inch stroke ram for my rockwell. Any help? Thanks

I've opted for one from Lee Mfg. Much more money though.

Tony Sobrito 04-30-2002, 01:17 PM Paul, what is the cost on the lee ram? tnx Tony
nasvik 04-30-2002, 01:21 PM Dunno what it's supposed to go for, but I believe just under $250 maybe? Best bet on pricing and specs will be to call Brad Kilby at Kilby Enterprises - 818 848 2900. I just tried to call but he's not in right now.

nasvik 04-30-2002, 04:14 PM Just talked to Brad. $220 (plus shipping) for the ram.

TheNerple 04-30-2002, 07:11 PM Damn I called the suplus place and they have a 1.5 inch bore 8 inch stroke for 85 bucks! What makes yours so hi? Heim joints at the the ends? Does it matter what style ends it has? Thanks
nasvik 04-30-2002, 07:23 PM The ends are extra. :D They're built by a shop that specializes in steering systems for off road race trucks, Formula 1 cars and the like. It's fully rebuildable, and you can have it made however you want.
I told you it was more than you'd want to spend, but thought others might want one anyway.

TTURokToy 12-19-2002, 02:22 PM Why the 1.5 cylinder? Here is the one I was planning on using for my rockwell. Is there anything wrong with it?http://www.baileynet.com//baileynet/productBrowse.asp?sku=214113I++++++

TheLakeRat 12-19-2002, 09:03 PM I sell mine for 150 each.
They come in 1.5 and 1.75" bore sizes and 6 and 8" strokes

pmurf1 12-19-2002, 09:59 PM Rockstomper kit for $195 works well for the cost. I don't think I'd want a 1.5" for that huge ass axle, but it's your rig. A stock toyota pump barely will move a 1.5" 8" stroke ram, especially when pulling into a parking spot at the mall.:flipoff2:
