the d44 must have been a front, or it would be very similar to the 10b. is it a gov-lock, or just an open, or does it have a clutch posi even?
you should be able to (with drums off) push the shafts in from the studded end, and pull the c-clips off from the inside of the carrier, then the shafts just pull out

There is a small bolt inline with the cross shaft, remove the bolt and pin (should be 1 piece) then slide the cross shaft out, push in your axle shafts at the wheels and then remove the c-clips for inside the carrier, then slide your shafts out.

Push axle shaft in, pull c-clip, pull axle shaft out.

yah...i figured it out, i was thinkin there was something else that had to come out first....thanks guys.
but now i need the pinion out, and i know i need to take the nut off where the driveshaft use to be attached. ise there anyway to do it now or do i need to put it back together with a tire to get some leverage on that nut?

use an impact wrench to remove the pinion nut at the yoke.

Pipe wrench on the yoke, breaker bar and socket on the nut works as well.
