I have a 96 F-250 7.3 turbo diesel and i'm having problems with the cruise control. The truck was set on fire and so the thing has been rewired kind of half 96 wiring components and half 97 components. Be that as it may, the truck has recently began surging when the cruise is set over 70 mph. Under 70 you're normally okay, maybe a hint of surging but not much. I have been told by people that it is not able to be fixed, other people have told me that the truck has no servo and the problem is in the computers themselves. Is anyone familiar with the components that work the cruise on a 96 powerstroke? Maybe give me an idea of what to tell them to check first... apparently my mechanic needs some help?! Any imput will be much appreciated.
