Hey guys, I need to know if the low pinion closed knuckle d44 is compatible with the open knuckle d44's. Will the open knuckle spindle and brakes convert to the closed knuckle, or is this axle pretty much stuck in its present form. It is a '76 F250 low pinion. Thanks.

I don't think anything interchanges other than the lockout...

toss a 77.5+ hp axle under there, and toss that closed knuckle junk in the scrap pile. they are worth exactly nothing..

couldnt you just cut the ends off and toss some open knuckles on it then weld it up, be a good time to get the pinion angle perfect if you have a lift

Well I found a mid 70's f-150 front with the removeable wedges. I think I will just convert it to eight-lub and weld on some spring perches.
