Because the springs on my commando are not a dime a dozen I
am on the look out for springs from other rigs that will swap in.
my springs are 56" long with offset center pin. It is 33" on the
long side and 23" on the short side. Anyone know the lenghts
on Explorer or Dakota springs? These look very similar to mine.
The measurements on my springs were with it on the ground.

It's been a while since I measured mine but I remember that my stock Explorer springs were 56", they are 2 1/2" wide.

You might take a look at a Ford F150 spring they are 56" long and the center pin to the front is somewhere around 25-26". Maybe you can just redrill your spring perch back and inch or two to get the same wheel base.

My Dakotas are exactly that. 23X33 but they are 2.5" wide but thats a good thing.

The chevy 56" springs have the same front to center distance as the 52" springs (which have the center pin in the center of the spring). That makes the measurement for both 26".
I think the F-150 springs are 25" from the front to center pin and are 57" long.

Look for the 3/4 ton ones. You can read the door jam to tell. The standard ones are rated for 2500 and the 3/4 ton ones are rated for 3400 I think. If you use the 1/2 ton ones they will need some extra springs added to them to work right.

Explorer: 56" long, and 30" to the center of the spring. From the other direction the center was 29". I guess that means they have a 1" offset? They are also 2.5" wide.
